I've been covering events in Iraq for NBC News for more than five years. On Tuesday, April 15 from 7:00-8:00 PM ET, I'll be answering questions posted here by the Newsvine community, as well as offering my own status report on the war.

Q&A on Iraqi orphans and adoption.
Richard...I first saw u on the Rachel Maddow show. I was very impressed with ur knowledge and assessment of what was happening at that time in the Swat Valley. And ur use of maps!
Just today I googled ur name to find out more about you and found out how you lived in Cairo, and later covered the Iraq war extensively, and so forth.
You are one of the few journalists that I trust 100%. Between your candid, unbiased style of reporting, and your knowledge of WHAT you're talking about, I just want you to know that....it is a pleasure to tune in and hear what you have to say about the Middle East!
Keep up the great work, and please stay SAFE.God Bless,

operation desert storm
the winds make swirling sand pictures around
he/she who is standing, looking wistfully and
stoically homeward. longing for a voice, for
a touch, for the feeling of belonging. for
the feeling of Home.he/she, left behind, standing, visioning the desert,
dreaming of the face, hearing the music of the
voice, searching for the human warmth of his/her touch.
chest burning, throat tight, the misting of the eyes
with tears of pride, of love, of caring.yes, i love you. yes, i miss you. yes, i wish
that you were home. and, as the sand swirls
round you, are are also here with me. in my dreams,
in my visions, in my thoughts, in my prayers,
IN MY HEART!!reach out your hand and you will touch me. open
your heart, and you will feel me. and to your mind,
my mind will send you, the vision/dream of Home.
carry the peace of my love with you . . . .
. . . . . from those you left at Home.anna martina sodari
february 7, 1991i live in sierra vista, arizona, sister-city to ft. huachuca, home of signal corp. i live in the little trailer that i bought from the fachetti's. their air force lt. col. daughter was the post commander of kuwait at the time. this was their winter home. i have a beautiful book called 'the dome of the rock' by said nuseibeh
and oleg grabar. said's family maintain the keys to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. i, myself, maintain what i would have to call native american altars for my mongrel dog heritage which includes tribal roots. the altars are kind of blended with shinto, but spirituality is much the same across the many faiths of this planet. vs. dogma. spirituality is meant to take care of the people of this planet and the human psyche distress and suffering of daily life. i cannot even begin to allow myself to imagine the destruction of physical bodies in war zones. i shield myself from such graphic content, i don't watch t.v., i purposefully cancelled my cable after 911, but whatever healing power i might possess goes out to them in their great pain, regardless of the uniform or lack of one. my paternal grandmother was a great healer in agua prieta, sonora, mexico. when she died, we found out how many people lived in agua prieta. she was a very humble woman.take very good care,
blessings,

You are worse than a "war pornographer", you are, as your colleague David Shuster could say, a war pimp. You are making money on a book you spun on CSPAN Book TV as a moderate overview of the war in Iraq. In actuality, it was a purely Leftist spin of the war designed to make money. You are no better than Halliburton. Where can I go to get my 28 dollars back?
Dear Richard, I am a big fan of yours and I think you need to take a break from all of this war zone reporting. Mind you, I'm only talking about a brief break because you are so good at what you do. I would like to see you report about your brother/cousin. His name is Marcus Engel..... and I'm also a big fan of his too. He is your age, and he was also in a war zone. He was hit by a drunk driver at the age of 18, which left him blind. The accident took place his freshman year of college, just when life is beginning for teenagers. Please look at his website and maybe make a comment on his blog. I'm sure he would be very grateful and very humbled if you just took a moment to do this. I know you are very busy, but from a big fan of yours, I'd be very grateful. His website is www.marcusengel.com. He also wrote a book about his journey through his own personal war zone. Wouldn't it be awesome if you both were actually related? You could be, because you both are very amazing people.
Sincerely,
Kim Santos

Dear Mr. Engel:
Your interest is Iraq. My husband is a retired scientist from Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute and from his research we feel strongly that the war must be stopped.
I was on CBS NEWS campaigning very actively for Senator Obama and against Senator Clinton, but switched my support to Hillary after getting up close to both of their campaigns in West Virginia. Check out the CBS NEWS video and the fascinating story of our conversion to Hillary on www.matrix-evolutions.com.
Respectfully,
Ruth Calabria
